This camp is an introduction game design and the creation of interactive experiences. SO 5 Days of Fun and Games! Well sort of… you will play shriek and laugh out loud while engaged in studying games of all kinds. Paper based games, first person shooters classical board games… but you will also focuses on game development—both computer, analogue and other types of games—through structured game design problems, exercises, lectures, and reading. The emphasis will be on an prototyping, playtesting, user experience, and clear concept development. The goal of the class is to explore how design systems (in this case, games) support interactivity through meaningful play. This week long class focuses on the design of games and playful experiences, and will not focus on specific game programming techniques, but you will do a little work in Flash.
